Continuing its growth and development, leading intellectual property firm FB Rice is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Jim Watson as Chairman of the firm. Mr Watson is a highly accomplished senior executive with a proven ability to work with teams to achieve industry leading performance. He has worked with many styles of organisation from start-up businesses to global corporations, both in Australia and overseas.

 

“We are very much looking forward to working with Jim, who brings a wealth of experience and ideas to the firm. As the intellectual property landscape changes, we seek new ways to provide the best possible technical and client service, and Jim’s input will assist greatly with that” said Managing Partner Dr. Brett Lunn.

 

In addition, the firm has promoted talented attorney Dr. Patrick McManamny to Senior Associate in the Melbourne Biotechnology team. “Patrick has worked with a range of biotechnology clients, and all have been impressed with his knowledge, experience and technical skill” said Dr. Lunn, adding that this promotion rounds off a year of growth in professional staff for the firm. Earlier this year two new partners were appointed, along with a number of promotions across every technology area of the firm.

 

Mr. Watson will work from both the Sydney and Melbourne offices and his appointment is effective from 1 December. Dr. McManamny is based in Melbourne and his appointment is effective 1 January 2011.
