Companies should be aware that they have up to ten months after the end of the financial year to lodge their R&D Tax Incentive Application for that financial year.

Cleo is a Senior Manager for FB Rice R&D Tax Consulting. She brings with her substantial firsthand experience in Income Tax, specifically in tax concessions and incentives for companies developing new and innovative technologies. This experience was primarily gained through 25 years of experience with top 4 chartered accounting firms and enables her to guide companies on how to obtain the maximum benefit from the Australian Government’s R&D Tax Incentive scheme.

Cleo has worked with a wide range of companies involved in diverse industries and technologies, allowing her to provide both reliable and comprehensive advice to clients and to continually grow her understanding of technology evolution. She has also worked with the Australian Tax Office, giving her an understanding of the political and economic rationale for Government support of technology development, and an invaluable insight into audit processes.

A particular focus of Cleo's is on preparation of ‘audit ready’ claims, in readiness for the inevitable audit activity of either the Tax Office or AusIndustry. This is achieved through careful documentation and the development of internal processes to capture R&D activities and expenditures, in consultation with the company.
