FB Rice partner Dr. Jenny Petering, and colleagues Dr. Patrick McManamny and Ms Jane Honeyman have published an article entitled: 'Antibody Therapeutics – The Evolving Patent Landscape' in the highly regarded journal, New Biotechnology.
Jane is a Technical Specialist in the Biotechnology team at FB Rice.
 
Jane graduated from the University of Melbourne with biomedical science and science degrees, majoring in Pharmacology, and was awarded the Knowbrowski Award for student most likely to succeed in Biomedical Science. During her Honours, Jane investigated the role of Neuropeptide Y (NPY) in brain glucose-sensing of Type I diabetic rats.
 
Following her studies, Jane worked as a Research Assistant at Monash University and St Vincent’s Institute of Medical Research (SVIMR). In her most recent role at SVIMR in the Protein Chemistry and Metabolism department, Jane focused on the biochemical pathways affected in Type II diabetes and obesity.
 
Jane’s work has been published in numerous research journals including Journal of Biological Chemistry; American Journal of Physiology, Endocrinology and Metabolism and Chemistry & Biology.
 
Jane conducts searches, especially in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sector, and watches the progress of third party patent applications around the world. This service provides useful supporting documentation to our attorneys for advice on patentability, due diligence and opposition matters. Jane also conducts research to support preparation of patent specifications in biotechnology, chemical and pharmaceutical matters and is currently undertaking the Masters of Industrial Property at University of Technology, Sydney.
