Otto is a Trainee Attorney in the Perth Engineering group. With over 5 years’ experience working with large international petroleum companies, coupled with his Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum) with First Class Honours, Otto brings a unique and valuable perspective to patent law and understands the importance of innovation in the resources and energy industry.
Whilst obtaining his degree, Otto was a Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide and a laboratory assistant at the Australian School of Petroleum. In these roles, he developed valuable analytical and technical skills which then led to a position with one of the world’s largest oil field services companies as a Graduate Completions and Productions Engineer. He was responsible for identifying and recommending wellbore construction solutions to clients and feasibility of oilfield equipment, which now segues into his ability to assist clients to identify solutions best fitted to their IP strategy. During his time in this position, Otto was acknowledged as being in the top percentile of graduate engineers.
Otto’s recent experience has also seen him working as an Offshore Drilling Engineer at a large multinational oil company, where he modelled and simulated drilling scenarios and was responsible for the reporting of drilling activities. Otto was given an award of excellence for this work.
With Otto’s strong background in the resources and energy industry, specialising in oilfield technologies, he is looking forward to working with new and existing clients in these sectors. Otto is working towards registration as an Australian Patent Attorney and is located in our Perth office.
