Rachel is a Senior Associate in the Melbourne office and has practised in the field of engineering patents for over 15 years.
Rachel’s practice is broadly based and extends from household consumer products to laser and optical instrumentation. More specifically, Rachel’s area of work includes patent applications directed to oil and gas industry products and services, cement and mineral industries, analysis equipment, and sensing systems for monitoring of environmental conditions.
Rachel’s practical outlook and approachability has enabled her to develop honest and solid relationships with her clients, resulting in consistent positive feedback. In addition, her in-depth knowledge ensures an efficient yet individual approach to each case. Rachel works with both local clients and foreign companies in protecting their patent and design rights in Australia. This includes drafting patent applications, infringement and patentability advice, patent prosecution, and management of patent portfolios. She is also experienced in Australian and European patent oppositions.
Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science from Macquarie University, Sydney and a Graduate Diploma of Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne. She successfully combines her years of IP experience, education, and extensive training and development to mentor trainee and junior patent attorneys – a process Rachel finds very rewarding.
