Simon prepares patent specifications, and prosecutes patent applications before the intellectual property offices of Australia and New Zealand, and coordinates prosecution matters in other jurisdictions.
Prior to joining FB Rice, Simon was an examiner of patents at IP Australia. Simon also has eight years of academic research experience, including postdoctoral research experience, in immunology and vaccine development, protein biochemistry, gene cloning, gene expression, and antibody production. Prior to entering the attorney profession, Simon was a postdoctoral scientist at Pasteur Institute, Paris and a research student at Monash University Faculty of Medicine, located in Melbourne.
