Tracey Webb specialises in Intellectual Property across physics, medical devices and ICT inventions. She is a Senior Associate in FB Rice’s Melbourne Office.
Tracey’s experience incorporates areas such as remote sensing instrumentation, microfluidic devices, neutron radiography, virtual mobile devices, systems for on-line mineral analysis, biometric authentication systems and applications, packaging and closure technology and signal processing techniques.
She works with a range of clients including universities, CSIRO, start-up companies and private inventors. Tracey also manages large global portfolios and has strong experience in protecting inventions in many jurisdictions outside Australia, particularly China. Her clients consistently say that Tracey is a pleasure to work with and that she offers ‘straight up’, direct and frank advice. Clients also regularly comment on Tracey’s enthusiasm and ability to make a difference to their business.
Tracey’s Masters of Science degree with 1st class honours in Physics focused on the remote sensing of the lower atmosphere and the development of SODAR instrumentation.
She has an extensive understanding of IP in China and an increasing part of her practice is helping clients to comprehend, enter and thrive in China. Tracey assists clients to navigate many considerations, both in terms of how the market in China operates right through to nuances of doing business there. She travels regularly to China and has become well known with clients for her insightful advice on selling into the growing market of 1.3 billion consumers.
Additionally Tracey finds stimulation in travelling, particularly to middle eastern countries. She relishes the perspectives that different cultures afford.
