Encouraging innovation at NICTA

Date: 17 February 2012
Author: FB Rice
FB Rice is pleased to continue the FB Rice prize for Best Patent Activity at NICTA (National ICT Australia) for 2012. Currently in its third year, the $2,500 prize is to recognise the best engagement in patent activity from NICTA researchers.

To be announced at this year's NICTA TechFest, the prize is not for the best invention - it is awarded based on tenacity, vision, patience and enthusiasm.

Last year's winner, Dr Leonid Rzyhyk, was awarded for his work in the Trustworthy Embedded Systems project at NICTA's Neville Roach laboratory in Sydney.

‘The research we do is often over long periods of time and covers very complex materials. It is often very difficult to provide articulate and succinct material for such broad-based research, so I am very pleased to see my efforts in that area rewarded! I am very grateful to FB Rice for the support and encouragement that winning this prize gives me.’

This year's winner will be announced at the NICTA TechFest on Thursday 23 February.
