Before joining FB Rice, Jasmine was an experienced post-doctoral researcher in the field of immunology and epigenetics. Her post-doctoral research primarily focused on understanding the immune system and how we can utilise it to fight against viral infections and cancer. Her research effort has led to 28 publications in peer reviewed international journals. Throughout her post-doc at Monash University and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, she was instrumental in driving successful collaborations with both local and international industry partners. As a result, she acquired broad experiences in commercialised research such as applying for industry-related and philanthropic funds, patent preparation, regulatory affairs, clinical trial executions, manufacturing and consumer engagement. Having this wealth of knowledge across different areas of research, she is able to appreciate and represent the variety of inventions that derive from basic or translational research. Being part of the process that helps these inventions to develop commercially in the Australian biotech sector is particularly rewarding for Jasmine.
Jasmine is currently undertaking a Master of Intellectual Property Law at the University of Melbourne. She is passionate in pursuing a career in intellectual property and looking forward to developing skills in the planning and strategic management of patent portfolios for clients ranging from research institutes to global corporations.
