Jeremy qualified as a patent agent in the UK in 1990 and as a European patent attorney the following year. He joined FB Rice in 1995, registered as an Australian and New Zealand patent attorney in 1998 and became a partner of the firm in 2001.
Jeremy specialises in patenting in the mechanical and electro-mechanical engineering fields. His expertise extends to inventions in the areas of mining equipment, transport and logistics, and laboratory equipment.
Jeremy also has considerable experience in patenting inventions relating to green technologies including greening buildings and storm water management.
As well as preparing, filing and prosecuting patent applications, Jeremy has also run numerous oppositions to patents for inventions before the Australian Patent Office. Jeremy has provided expert evidence on issues of infringement and/or validity of Australian patents in proceedings before the Federal Court of Australia on several occasions.
Jeremy also has a keen interest in, and understanding of registered designs, both in Australia and overseas and is currently the convenor of IPTA's Designs Committee.
