Rachel is a Partner of FB Rice and heads the Medical Technology team. As a qualified Patent Attorney, Rachel has many years experience in preparing and prosecuting patent applications both in Australia and internationally. She conducts infringement and validity opinions and excels at providing high level strategic advice to a range of start up companies.
Rachel has experience and a keen understanding of medicine and its interface with technology. She has particular knowledge of orthopaedics including various prostheses and new drug combinations, pharmaceuticals and drug delivery systems, pharmacokinetics, diagnostic devices and systems, medical and surgical instruments and equipment, cardiovascular including heart assist devices, vascular grafts and stents, wound care, cochlear implants and microbiology.
