Australian Government announces patents system review

On 26 May, Minister for Industry, Science and Technology, Karen Andrews, announced a patents system review to support small and medium business innovation.
“The aim of this review is to make sure our patents system best supports the needs of SMEs, so Australian businesses can protect their inventions and operate with confidence in Australian markets and abroad,” Minister Andrews said.
FB Rice will monitor when the review calls for submissions. The final report is scheduled to be delivered to government by May 2021 with the review commencing in the coming months and running for six months.
