Jarrod is known for his approachable manner, clear communication, and practical, commercially focused advice. His technical excellence has been acknowledged by the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA), which awarded him the prestigious Institute Prize.

He advises clients across a broad range of biotechnology sectors, with particular expertise in biopharmaceuticals, gene therapies, and their manufacture. Jarrod is an expert in Australian and New Zealand patent prosecution and manages complex patent portfolios for clients ranging from emerging biotechnology companies to multinational pharmaceutical organisations and leading research institutions. He also regularly advises on freedom to operate, validity, infringement, and global patent strategy.

Jarrod holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Jesus College, University of Cambridge. His research encompassed a diverse range of biotechnology fields, including therapeutic antibodies for influenza and cancer, anthrax drug targets, and bacterial RNA regulation. This broad scientific foundation underpins his ability to provide commercially focused and technically informed patent advice.
