At FB Rice the Inclusion and Diversity Committee (IDC) is following a Gender Equity Plan; a plan enlisted with the support and guidance from the Workplace Gender Equity Agency (WGEA). To be eligible to apply for the Employer of Choice for Gender Equity (EOCGE) citation run by WGEA, organisations must be compliant with the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012, and meet all the EOCGE assessment criteria. The criteria for the citation covers seven focus areas. These reflect findings from the latest academic research into drivers of improved gender equality outcomes and consultation with gender equality experts and practitioners, industry groups and employers.

Seven key focus areas to drive gender equality

  1. Leadership, strategy and accountability
  2. Developing a gender-balanced workforce
  3. Gender pay equity
  4. Support for caring
  5. Mainstreaming flexible work
  6. Preventing gender-based harassment and discrimination, sexual harassment and bullying
  7. Driving change beyond your workplace

How we are #breakingthebias at FB Rice

The seven key themes mentioned above have underpinned the work of our IDC. We would like to celebrate the progress we have made towards #breakingthebias, the theme for International Women’s Day (IWD) 2022, and encourage all of us to keep moving in the right direction.

Hear from some of our staff on how we are addressing these focus areas, and #breaking the bias.

Some of the key themes covered by staff in this video include:

  • The positive impacts of flexible work arrangements
  • The importance of females in leadership
  • Our inclusive workplace culture
  • How we address discrimination and unconscious bias
  • What IWD means, and it’s importance
