The Australian Government is accelerating commercialisation
The Australian Federal Government recently introduced the Accelerating Commercialisation programme, which aims to assist Australian entrepreneurs, researchers, start-ups, inventors, commercialisation offices, and small to medium businesses overcome the challenges associated with commercialising novel products, processes and services. The programme provides grants and other support to successful applicants as part of the broader Entrepreneurs’ Infrastructure Programme.
The Accelerating Commercialisation programme connects successful applicants with professional, independent and experienced Commercialisation Advisers who are able to provide guidance on managing participants’ intellectual property portfolios.
Grants of up to $1 million are also available under the programme and can be used for up to 50% of eligible expenditure, including the cost of obtaining intellectual property protection.
Additional services available through the programme include:
- An invitation to join the Portfolio of Australian businesses that are undertaking early stage commercialisation activities
- An opportunity to access the Expert Network (via Advisers) to help make important business connections, create opportunities to raise capital, and/or enter new markets, and
- Potential exposure to investors and multi-national corporations through domestic and international roadshows.
