Ellen holds a PhD in neuroimmunology from the University of Queensland, where her research focused on developing therapeutics to treat central nervous system injury. She went on to complete a post-doctoral fellowship at the Translational Research Institute, where she investigated novel autoimmune vaccine strategies. Through this work, Ellen gained deep expertise in neuroimmunology, molecular biology, and biological therapeutics, with a particular focus on translational applications of immunological research.
Ellen has a strong interest in the intersection of science and innovation and is particularly drawn to the process of translating complex research into practical, real-world applications. Her experience in both fundamental and translational research enables her to understand a wide range of biotechnologies and support the development of robust intellectual property strategies.
Ellen is currently undertaking a Master of Intellectual Property as part of her training to become a registered Australian and New Zealand patent attorney. She is passionate about using her scientific background to assist clients in protecting and commercialising their innovations.
