Jakob Lane

Jakob has three years of postdoctoral experience working both in academia and the biotechnology industry as a medicinal chemist. His experience spans hit identification through to lead optimisation, including SAR modifications to improve pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles.

Jakob completed his Master’s in chemistry at the University of Sheffield, UK, followed by his PhD in organic supramolecular chemistry at the University of Sydney. His academic research experience includes the development of small molecule and polymeric systems for selectively detecting biologically and industrially relevant analytes, and the development of new polymers for organic photovoltaic applications.

From his experience working in a biotechnology start-up environment, Jakob brings a practical understanding of drug discovery workflows and the challenges involved in progressing compounds toward preclinical and clinical development.
