In this compliance focused program, she worked for many years successfully defending R&D claims for large and small claims with both the Australian Taxation Office and AusIndustry, and helping to develop strong internal process for companies to protect their R&D claims.
Over her time working in R&D tax, Kate has worked across industries including biotechnology, engineering, energy and resources, manufacturing and information technology.
Kate’s technical background is in applied physics with experience in a Silicon Valley based telecommunications company and the Defence Science and Technology Organisation prior to moving into R&D consulting. It was in working for a technology start up that she saw firsthand some of the challenges in funding R&D and technology in Australia and how critical programs like the Australian R&D Tax Incentive are.
