Matt Adams

Matt specialises in patents and designs, with an emphasis on drafting and prosecution in the electrical, electronic and ICT fields. He assists clients in patent specification drafting, technology transfer, and strategic procurement.

He has a reputation for achieving successful outcomes for his clients and represents a diverse range of clients, including pre-revenue start-ups, SMEs, universities, Crown Research Institutes, and multinational corporations. He understands their commercial drivers and strives to align their IP strategies with their commercial strategies.

Matt is a former president of the New Zealand Intellectual Property Attorneys Inc. He has held various positions within the American Intellectual Property Law Association. Matt is well-versed in the challenges faced by New Zealand and Australian businesses. He is also learning Te Reo Māori, the indigenous language of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

Matt is a registered Australian and New Zealand Patent Attorney.
