Melissa has experience in drafting provisional and PCT applications and prosecuting patent applications primarily in the fields of biotechnology, biochemistry, molecular biology and pharmaceuticals, in Australia and overseas. Melissa also has “in-house” experience, having been seconded to one of Australia’s leading research agencies.
Melissa also provides strategic advice to her clients as well as patentability assessments and patent landscape analysis to assist them in prioritising their projects.
Prior to joining our firm, Melissa’s postdoctoral research at UNSW involved understanding how post-translational modification of proteins modulate their capacity to interact using a variety of molecular biology and proteomics techniques.
Melissa’s extensive research experience has led to several publications in renowned journals and conference oral presentations.
Melissa is a registered Australian Patent and New Zealand Patent Attorney and registered Australian Trade Marks Attorney.
