Dae Woong Oh – Patent Attorney
Dae is a qualified Australian and Korean patent attorney with extensive experience in the field of patent searching and analysis. Dae regularly works with FB Rice attorneys conducting business with Korean firms, as well as providing valuable cultural insight into managing intellectual property issues in the Korean system.
Full Bio
Prior to joining FB Rice, Dae worked as a patent search/analysis manager for a patent information firm in Sydney where he successfully managed and trained over 15 patent analysts. Due to his high quality patent searching team the size and revenue of the firm increased more than five times during his seven year service period.
He was in charge of the team who searched for, watched and analysed patents relevant to a vast variety of biological and small molecule drugs as well as medical devices.  His team also provided reports based on results of the searches to various pharmaceutical companies, which resulted in helping the launch of many pharmaceutical products around the world.
Prior to moving to Australia in 2005, Dae worked for a boutique IP firm in Korea where he practiced as a Korean patent attorney representing clients before the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
Dae has experience in prosecuting patent applications in Australia and New Zealand, providing patentability advice and advising on freedom-to-operate and patent landscapes.
