
Jarrod has a strong background in scientific research. Prior to joining FB Rice, Jarrod was a NHMRC Early Career Research Fellow (Peter Doherty Fellow) at Monash University. In 2014, Jarrod completed a PhD as a Herchel Smith scholar at Jesus College, University of Cambridge.
Jarrod's scientific research spanned a wide range of biotechnological applications including therapeutic antibodies against influenza and cancer, anthrax drug targets, and bacterial gene regulators. Jarrod has published his research in numerous scientific papers in world leading interdisciplinary journals, such as Nature and Science.
Jarrod is experienced in handling Australian, New Zealand and overseas patent prosecution for both local and overseas clients. Jarrod also regularly provides freedom to operate, infringement, validity, and strategic patent advice.
Jarrod was recently awarded the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA) Institute Prize for 2019. This prize is awarded to the best newly qualified Australian patent attorney for excellence in academic subjects and for demonstrating a potential to contribute substantially to the profession.”
