FB Rice has been awarded ‘Best Specialist IP and Related Services Firm’ 2020 award for the third year running (previously named ‘Best IP Specialist’). This is the fourth year in a row we have won at the the Client choice Awards – three for this award, and one for “Niche Firm Leader”. Additionally, Ian Rourke and Connie Merlino were named finalists in the most ‘Client-Focussed IP Practitioner’ category. “As always, the Awards are closely contested and justifiably recognise client-rated excellence in the professions. The fact that you are the winner in a field of other excellent finalists deserves to be widely celebrated with both your people and clients.” - George Beaton, Executive Chairman, Beaton Consulting.

In the 2020 edition of World Trademark Review 1000: The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals, FB Rice was once again acknowledged as a leading firm. Additionally, Joanne Martin, Michael Seifreid and Lisa Neilson were individually acknowledged for their trade mark expertise. WTR stated "In business for 70 years, the independent FB Rice has incredible depth and, most importantly, adds tremendous value. Effective communications ensure clients are ever up to date with the status of their files and creativity in problem solving means that few, if any, requests are impossible. The team is also a great corporate citizen that exemplifies a caring culture towards clients and employees.”

FB Rice was named the Australian “Patent Attorney Firm of the Year” at the inaugural 2020 Global IP Awards. Developed by the IP Media Group, which publishes IAM and World Trademark Review (WTR), these awards recognise the top IP firms from around the world. It is an honour to be the recipient of such an award in its first year.

Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) acknowledged FB Rice as a Tier One firm for both patent prosecution and trade mark prosecution in 2019.
