This recognition places us among a select group of over 80 organisations in Australia acknowledged for their commitment to creating truly inclusive workplaces.

For an organisation to be recognised as an Inclusive Employer, they must exceed the National Index Benchmark across several key diversity and inclusion areas. These include awareness, engagement, inclusive organisational climate, inclusive leadership, inclusive team and frequency of exclusion. FB Rice people participated in the DCA and Diversity Atlas Inclusive Employer Index workplace survey. The Index is an insightful survey that measures employee diversity and inclusion experiences in the workplace, serving as a diagnostic tool that provides organisations with valuable D&I metrics.

This data empowers us to show our commitment to inclusion, reflect on our achievements and identify ways to do even better.

At FB Rice, we believe our strength lies in the diversity of our people. Our team across Australia and New Zealand embrace differences in gender, culture, ethnicity, disability, life stage, and more.

“It’s an important recognition of the work we’ve been doing across the firm over the last few years and goes to the heart of building a truly diverse and inclusive workplace where all voices are valued. FB Rice’s team has a variety of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives – this brings a diversity of thought and perspective to our work. I’m grateful to people across our firm who took part in the Inclusive Employer Index survey, and to those involved in our Diversity and Inclusion committee shaping an inclusive future.” Rebekah Charif, Head of People and Culture

Research by Inclusion@Work report the following benefits from creating a diverse and inclusive workplace:

  • More job satisfaction
  • More positive mental health outcomes
  • More likely to stay in their organisation
  • More likely to have taken on board constructive feedback

The DCA workforce survey of FB Rice found our people reported a strong sense of belonging, with high agreement that they feel part of a team. Employees agreed at above-benchmark levels that people in their team treat each other with respect and employees expressed strong support for FB Rice continuing to take action on diversity and inclusion. Our D&I Committee will use the survey insights to inform targeted actions that will continue to build our inclusive workplace.

We’re committed to creating an environment where people can bring their whole selves to work, supported by inclusive policies such as our gender-neutral parental leave, soft-landing program for returning parents, and flexible working arrangements.

Inclusive workplaces are built through intention, accountability and care. As a firm we are committed to attracting and supporting people with diverse experiences, perspectives and identities, to create an environment where inclusion is part of how we work every day, and where every individual feels valued, heard, and empowered to succeed.
