New Senior Overseas Patent Attorney joins FB Rice's Perth office
Meet Senior Overseas Patent Attorney Daniel Holt. Dan has expertise in engineering technology including AI, computer software, wireless communications, electronics, medical devices and mining equipment. He brings a wealth of experience in drafting and prosecuting patents, advising on IP strategy and conducting freedom to operate searches.
The partners of FB Rice are excited to welcome Overseas Patent Attorney Daniel Holt to the engineering team in our Perth office. Dan comes to us originally from the UK where he studied Physics at the University of Bristol. Driven by the thrill of scientific progression and innovation, he qualified as a patent attorney and gained experience in IP working for a major European patent attorney firm.
Dan began specialising in Chinese and Asia Pacific matters, which he then took forward working in-house for a large US technology company and then a major law firm in Hong Kong. He resided in Hong Kong for 15 years, during which time he took courses in Mandarin and Cantonese and became a keen hiker.
Dan has expertise in engineering technology including AI, computer software, wireless communications, electronics, medical devices and mining equipment. He brings us a wealth of experience in drafting and prosecuting patents, advising on IP strategy and conducting freedom to operate searches.
On a personal level, Dan enjoys badminton and - having worked up an appetite - fine dining; particularly Asian cuisine.
