Daniel advises technology companies on obtaining strong, enforceable patents and building effective patent strategies. He started his career in the UK and worked in Hong Kong for many years, including at a leading law firm and a large US technology company. During this time he worked extensively with Chinese clients, including H3C (华三), supporting the growth of their international patent portfolios.
Daniel leverages his international experience to help Australian clients obtain patents overseas and to assist foreign companies building patent portfolios in Australia. He regularly works with overseas law firms and multinational companies on patent protection in Australia and internationally.
Daniel is approachable and provides practical, commercial advice to help clients navigate the IP landscape. He particularly enjoys working with inventors and has drafted over 170 patent applications, many for universities, high-tech companies and multi-national organisations.
Daniel holds a Masters degree in Physics and is a qualified Australian, European and UK patent attorney. He was listed as a ranked individual in the IAM 1000 in 2019-2021.
