Eddie Walker is a partner in our Sydney medical technology team.
As a partner with over 17 years of experience in private patent practice, Eddie focuses on providing his diverse and global client-base with pragmatic, well thought out advice, breaking down difficult concepts in a clear and concise manner. He does this with a technical background in physics, and a strong international grounding in IP following qualification as an Australian and New Zealand patent attorney at FB Rice, and previously as a UK and European patent attorney at a major firm in London.

EngineeringHaving a background in physics, Eddie handles a wide variety of technologies including medical, mechanical, electrical, semiconductor and optical engineering. While a large portion of his work is within FB Rice’s medical technology team, he also works across a number of different industry sectors including in the fields of photovoltaics and fluorescence spectroscopy.
Eddie provides a broad-reaching IP service, with considerable expertise in drafting and prosecuting patent and design applications in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, USA and Asia, providing infringement and validity advice, and general portfolio management.
Prior to joining the profession, Eddie worked for one of the world’s largest telecommunications providers in its optical design and verification team, where he was named as an inventor on US patent application US 2004208515.
Eddie is a registered Australian Patent Attorney.
